  • Acted as a single point of contact (face-to-face, telephone and by email) to households with multiple, complex needs who were experiencing problems with their housing, threatened with or were homeless.
  • Provided expert, comprehensive advice and information on all aspects of housing to prevent homelessness, taking into account their overall financial situation, their needs and aspirations, eligibility for assistance under the relevant legislations to identify the most suitable option of housing for the household.
  • Worked collaboratively and proactively with a range of other services and organisations to ensure that families with multiple, complex needs are properly assessed and referred to specialist services for the support and assistance they need.
  • Provided comprehensive personalised housing plans that were kept under review and shared with partner agencies where consent was given to ensure the needs of the households were met.
  • Maintain an extensive and up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, guidance and case law to ensure that the local authority meets its statutory obligations towards those who are homeless or threatened with homelessness.

  • My main responsibilities were to triage new referrals from police, action fraud, courts and other external services and provide immediate emotional and practical support.
  • Manage a case load of between 30-40 service users at any given time and provide specialist on-going support for victims of Domestic and Sexual Abuse.
  • I provided the following support to my service users; emotional support, provision of security alarms for personal safety and home safety, attending court, completing criminal compensation claims, securing refuge spaces and referrals for further counselling/support.
  • An achievement of mine was a hugely successful compensation claim where the applicant was awarded £22,000 in criminal injuries compensation.
