- I was involved across the Crude, Fuel Oil swaps, LPG swaps, Gasoline swaps and Forward Freight Agreements desks
- I was able to shadow both senior and junior brokers across the firm – helping with administrative tasks such as recording trades between companies where I had to specify the product, volume, parties involved and time so that it could be processed.
- This role encouraged me to ask meaningful and calculated questions to learn from the professionals around me, as they were often very busy. This equipped me with a good overview of important and relevant concepts a broker.
- This gave me meaningful insights into market analysis, trading strategies, and broader macro dynamics of this segment of the energy sector. Overall, this experience strengthened my professional skillset whilst also compounding my passion and interest for energy systems.

- This role includes setting up and taking down the infrastructure required for events. As part of executing this primary function, I am tasked with carrying out other ancillary functions such as unloading and loading HGV’s, and organising resources within warehouses.
- Whilst in this role I have strengthened my skills in collaboration and communication due to the team nature of the role. I have also gained an appreciation for thinking holistically given the interdependency of each leg of the operation.

- This role entailed working in corporate boxes at Leicester Tigers, where I would greet and sit directors, investors and management of the club.
- This role strengthened a host of soft skills that are required when dealing with clients of the club in a professional setting. In particular, I learnt the importance of engaging in conversation and asking thought-through questions, which is transferrable into a role where interactions with new clients is commonplace.
