Since starting my role at MJ Quinn I have became responsible for overseeing any risk and compliance to the company in regards to any work being carried out at customers properties in connection with telecommunications. Day to day I communicate with engineers, customers and other departments to minimise any risks to the company. I have developed and furthered computing and admin skills.

• As a manager I hold a lot more responsibility within the store ensuring my team is doing what they are supposed to and ensuring the running of the department. This role included the visual merchandising of the department and also the merchandising which often means I am dealing with figures including the units sold, the exposition of units on the shopfloor and what we are selling compared to other stores in the country and the region. My role includes looking at forecasts weekly, monthly and yearly and making sure my department hits targets and helping the store hit targets. I am often in touch with regional managers discussing our targets and ways we can hit these which may involve changing certain collections, ranges and possibly prices in order to beat competitors. Whilst becoming a manager I have gathered a wider ability which includes becoming a keyholder, delegating jobs to employees and also dealing with cash at store opening and store closings.

• As the ladieswear commercial of our store I had to lead a handful of the team ensuring they are all completing jobs to the best of their ability and keeping standards as high as possible for customers. I am also in charge of the visual side to the store including the layout and plan of the shop floor, constantly re arranging so every item is visible to customers whilst trying to ensure monthly, weekly, and daily targets are met. I understand the importance of meeting targets massively and I play a huge part in making sure my store hits them. Making sure the layout of the floor meets our customer criteria and customer style is a vital part in making sure the store hits targets as if the look of the floor is not attractive to our customers sales could potentially be down affecting figures massively.

• Whilst working as a sales assistant at Zara Chester, I have furthered my experience of working with the public and dealing with customers, along with learning a wide array of knowledge in the fashion industry. Daily/weekly and monthly targets were a high priority in my role with both customer satisfaction and company targets having to be implemented and always met. When transacting with customers it was also a strongpoint of mine to upsell additional items at the point of sale. Within the job role as a sales assistant, it is vital to build a rapport with the customers within the store and ensure they have a comfortable and enjoyable shopping experience. Other duties include working with POS systems, ensuring high levels of organisation and compliance. It is also necessary to work as a team and communicate at most times throughout the working day, ensuring compromises are made and leasing to make each employee feel involved.

• One responsibility I faced whilst working at CO-OP was providing great service to customers and working as a team with my colleagues. I always made sure I went the extra mile to give a great customer experience so as they would then return to the store but also that they were ultimately happy with their experience and felt satisfied. Another was ensuring that my job was done correctly throughout every shift and putting my all into every job I was given. Working in a retail store like CO-OP included a very diverse environment so I have experience in making sure every customer and colleague is treated fairly and with the same respect. General duties of my job included stock replenishments, use of electronic POS systems, cash handling, ensuring store standards are kept to a high level and implementing great customer service.
