Role is commercial lead for both pre & post contract cost management of several NEC3 term maintenance contracts circa £200m p.a covering the operations function covering both water/wastewater networks and mechanical & electrical work stream. Responsibilities include:

• Liaison and commercial support to senior stakeholders up to Director level
• Support audit team with payment applications and measurement principles
• Key contact with suppliers' senior commercial team
• Commercial advice and support to project managers including target cost validation, compensation events, risk review and dispute resolution
• Support reactive team in forecasting, trend analysis, issues in dispute
• Support legal team in third party claims for damages to assets
• Review and measure monthly KPI´s & gain share target
• Support finance team in accuracy of accounts and data
• Team management and mentoring of apprentices through RICS
• Contract drafting - scheme specific NEC4 short form
• Bid and tendering support for framework renewals/extensions

• Testing and implementation of ´electronic´ processing of contractor´s payment applications in lieu of paper system
• 3-month project working with procurement to drive savings from operations suppliers - target achieved
• Resolution of historic commercial issues across various workstreams
• Supporting the business with various re-tendering/framework awards such as contract drafting and commercial evaluation.

• International consultancy providing cost/project/facilities/risk management across all sectors incl utilities, retail, oil & gas, government, healthcare etc
• Providing full cost management duties as part of client's commission to several significant projects/schemes on behalf of Southern Water/UK Power Networks, namely:

• NEC 3 Multiservice framework Contracts for sewerage and mechanical & electrical planned & reactive.

• Mechanical & Electrical Renewals Contract - managing commercial team provided by C&B.

• Assisting Southern Water commercial team review scheme target cost and payment applications on ICHEME Green book reactive sewer contract.

• £120M ICHEME Green Book programme of schemes (£100+) ranging in value from £100k to £100m split East/West with separate delivery partners.

• £110M ICHEME Green Book upgrade & refurbishment of Budds Farm Waste Treatment works., practice covering retail, checking Bill of Quantities, basic measurement, and compiling contract documentation.

• ICHEME Red Book sewer tunnel scheme

• Secured additional commissions for 4 additional cost Managers with responsibility for Line Manager duties.
