All of my roles have included fundraising as well as consistent and high level stewardship of fundraisers and volunteers.   • Managing and co-ordinating events for the organisation, including community events, fundraising activities and team days.

  • Event managed three “Light Up A Life” Christmas events as well as coordinating the annual Christmas Tree collection across eleven postcodes in Bristol, where we collected over 1250 trees from across the city to recycle to fundraise for the Hospice.

Summer Events Assistant

  • I worked over the summer months for New Wine, where I had previously been employed, to provide support to the Events Team in the lead up, and during, the New Wine summer festival
  • The role included customer service via phone and email, administering waiting lists for children’s groups at the event and supporting volunteers throughout the festival.
  • During the festival itself, I was part of the core team on site, helping delegates on a daily basis and answering queries throughout the day.

Events Team Coordinator

  • Working for a charity based in London, the main part of this role was to be a part of a small team organising a national Christian festival and managing a programme of year-round events for church leaders across the country.
  • I led the recruitment and administration of volunteers for certain areas of the festival and dealt with queries from customers of the festival on a day-to-day basis.
  • This also included leading on smaller events across the year including planning the events from start to finish, ensuring all volunteers were recruited, logistics were planned in fine detail and all communications with other departments of the organisation were kept up to date and clear
  • I would also be responsible for being on site at each event and for speaking with those attending to be an ambassador for the organisation, including encouraging people to donate money and to be a part of the organisations’ growth.
  • Working at New Wine included a lot of unsocial hours which I embraced fully alongside the commitment and hard work of the rest of the team.

  • My role was to be the first point of contact for teachers in the Maths and English department of a large college.
  • I dealt with student queries on a day-to-day basis and led a mentor programme to help some students gain access to extra support in their studies.
  • I was also responsible for putting together the timetables for the department and making them fit with the rest of the college as well as administrating exam invigilators.

Events Manager

  • I was employed by Bath Festivals to produce content and events for the Bath Festival (music and literature) and the Bath Children’s Literature Festival.
  • My role was to provide support to all departments of the organisation including programming, production, marketing, creative learning, development and finance.
  • This also included advancing artists and being the point of contact for submissions and enquiries for all festival artists.
  • The role was incredibly varied and involved prioritising a large workload and working to a number of deadlines.
  • During festivals I have also worked as event manager, front of house and artist liaison officer for festival events at a wide range of venues.
  • My position also included producing content and events for the organisations’ ‘out of town’ programme in local communities outside of Bath.
  • I programmed music events into Victoria Hall in Radstock as well as The Space in Keynsham, Midsomer Norton Town Hall and Paulton Library and looked after literature and children’s literature events in Radstock and Midsomer Norton libraries.
  • This increased my experience in learning how music events can have such a positive impact on people’s lives in communities that don’t get the same level of support from local councils.

  • I was employed on a part-time, temporary basis by The Forum in Bath where I was in the role of a general steward.
  • The role has involved checking tickets for events at The Forum, fielding enquiries for the Box Office on the nights of events and helping to clear up the auditorium after the show as well as promoting future shows to audience members as they leave.

  • This involved building community in a particular area of Bath by way of knocking on doors, meeting people in cafés, churches and parks to listen to residents in order to find out what they love about where they live as well as what they find difficult.
  • We then helped them to build projects and groups in their communities to give them an ownership and pride about where they live.
  • This role improved my communication, leadership and facilitation skills as well as helping me to a lot about conflict/resolution.
