I am a dedicated team player who brings a creative flare to all that I do. I have a wealth of experience in a wide range of educational roles, and adapt quickly to new positions and relish challenges. I have a can-do attitude, which helps me to find solutions to problems and motivates me to broaden my skill set at every opportunity. Everything I do is with a smile, great attention to detail and a desire to serve to the best of my ability.
Strathearn Arts is a Community Arts Charity with 5 members of staff and over 60 volunteers. My role was to manage the Box Office and retail space. The Art Space showcases arts and crafts by 33 local artists, and it was my job to bring in new artists, arrange displays and decorate the shop, handle monthly sales reports, arrange contracts and payments, as well as the day-to-day running of the shop. The charity relies heavily on volunteers, and I co-ordinated volunteers for the shop for regular weekly slots, special events and holiday cover.
As more of the charity's systems went online, I provided an essential face-to-face link with the community. I pride myself in having excellent customer service skills, and this was reflected in the many regular customers who came into the shop not only for a browse but to have a conversation, particularly the older generation.
Latterly, I took over the charity's online marketing and social media channels. I am proficient in cash handling, Zettle card payments, SmartSheets, Excel, Free Agent and the Google Workspace.
Sadly, the shop has been closed due to lack of funding.
As the school's only Librarian, I worked with students from the Primary and High School to provide a creative, welcoming learning space. I was responsible for the maintenance of the library, as well upgrading its computer systems. Although I largely worked alone, I was very much part of the school's staff team, and worked alongside teachers to provide the best experience and learning environment for the students.
I helped organise and attended four Readers For Life extended trips alongside the High School English department.
Whilst at the school, I was very involved in the Art and Theatre departments, and became the lead costume and set designer for all of the school theatre productions.
I taught the cookery strand of the Design Technology curriculum at both the Primary and High School. I developed the lesson plans in line with the English National Curriculum. I was responsible for maintaining the kitchen equipment, stock management, ordering supplies on a weekly basis to both campuses, a well as delivering fun, high quality lessons. Adherence to strict Health and Safety and Food Hygiene regulations was essential, and I reviewed these procedures regularly.
I also taught after school Master Chef clubs, held special cookery days during Activity Week and occasional cookery classes in Early Years.
