I am 21 years old, born in London. I have an interest in creative work, as I can use it as a channel to demonstrate my skills. I am a very hardworking individual who can multitask various responsibilities throughout the day. Additionally, I am very enthusiastic and passionate to learn more about Architecture and how it is used in professional practice so that I can start to implement it into my own work.
Currently, I am a third-year Architecture student at the University of Portsmouth, this is where many of my skills were able to be developed and new skills for improving my drawings. Throughout the 3 years my skills have been put to the test and with each module I received feedback that I took in and used it to improve the next modules that I had.
At this job, I worked as an assistant and carried out tasks such as helping out on building sites and completing drawings so that they would be ready for assembly, as it was primarily for cupboards and wardrobes. This helped me get a deeper understanding of how the interior construction of a house goes and the problems that arise for the workers when some architectural drawings may look unclear. I believe it is important to understand how someone from a non-architectural background may look at the drawings, as it can help you improve your work so that all parties can better understand the idea you are trying to convey. It also let me look at professional work from architects and see the high standards they put in their work, so that I can implement it into my own work.
At Vue, I worked as a customer assistant, meaning I would go through each screen to ensure it met a high standard before customers could enter. This also meant that I needed to ensure no customers were disrupting other customers, and if there were, I would deal with them appropriately.
I have a good understanding of different 3D modelling and drawing software, such as SketchUp and AutoCAD, where I have successfully been able to create drawings and models of high quality
I also have experience in urban planning, which is in a module in my Architecture course In this module, my fellow students and I researched Old Portsmouth and the surrounding area, examining the strengths and weaknesses of the area
Due to doing a BTEC in Business and getting a Distinction Star, during Sixth Form, I was able to implement my maths skills into actual business use, and understand how a business runs and how to manage finances, which has also helped me in my society committee role in university as a treasurer
In my second year of university, my friends and I started a society called "Indie Music Society". I was given the role of treasurer, meaning I would be in charge of all the finances. In our first year we saw decent success, but we still had room for clear important.
In my third year, we took it as a chance to properly work on and improve our society, as we reached 224 total members. This was due to us extending our reach and improving our socials by looking at how we could encourage new members to join and become part of our community.
One of my main hobbies is gaming; I enjoy being able to wind down after a long day and being immersed in another world. These worlds sometimes help me get inspired with my designs, as you can see how a city or town is laid out and the design style it has.
Another one of my hobbies is cleaning up, because I believe your mind will be as cluttered as your living space is, and with a clean room you can better think.
