Qualified in March 2008 as a shunter at Felixstowe. Responsibilities include preparing Intermodal services for safe and timely departure in strict accordance with national rules and regulations as well as GBRf's own rules.
I went on to learn the Class 66 and 08/09 for driving and shunting within yards and became a mentor in 2019. I have helped shape the shunt plans between the Port of Felixstowe and GBRf which we still currently work to.
City & Guilds ATM/RO Assessor since 2025.
Worked as a Relief Grade 2 Signaller at multiple locations in the Colchester/Clacton area. Responsible for the safe operation of crossing and signalling equipment and ensuring the safety of both road users and rail users in conjunction with the laid out rules and regulations.
This position included working shifts, weekends and short notice rostering changes.
