Deliver planned maintenance, installation and improvement works across social housing properties, ensuring homes are maintained to a high standard while working professionally within occupied environments. Responsible for identifying property defects, carrying out effective repairs and maintaining safe, clean and compliant living conditions for residents.

Key responsibilities

  • Carry out a wide range of multi-trade works including carpentry, plumbing, tiling, flooring installation, plaster repairs and minor groundworks.
  • Identify building defects within residential properties and determine appropriate solutions, focusing on addressing root causes and ensuring long-term outcomes rather than short-term fixes.
  • Deliver works within tenanted properties, ensuring minimal disruption while maintaining strong communication and customer service with residents.
  • Ensure all works are completed safely and to high workmanship standards, leaving properties clean, secure and fit for occupation.
  • Record works completed, materials used and any additional property issues identified using mobile job management systems.
  • Work independently across multiple locations, managing workload and maintaining productivity while meeting organisational service standards.
  • Take ownership of repairs from identification through to completion, ensuring works are carried out safely, to a high standard and with a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain strong compliance with health and safety regulations, ensuring safe systems of work, hazard awareness and adherence to organisational procedures in all environments.

Serve as Co-Chair of the organisation’s Employee & Management Forum, representing colleagues across multiple departments and acting as a key link between employees and senior leadership.

Responsibilities include:

  • Facilitating open dialogue between colleagues and senior management on workplace matters, operational improvements and organisational initiatives.
  • Representing employee views and feedback to leadership to help inform decision-making.

  • I started DC Garden Services straight after I left college. Garden design, horticulture and construction has always been my passion, and this led me to start the business.
