Deliver planned maintenance, installation and improvement works across social housing properties, ensuring homes are maintained to a high standard while working professionally within occupied environments. Responsible for identifying property defects, carrying out effective repairs and maintaining safe, clean and compliant living conditions for residents.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out a wide range of multi-trade works including carpentry, plumbing, tiling, flooring installation, plaster repairs and minor groundworks.
• Identify building defects within residential properties and determine appropriate solutions, focusing on addressing root causes and ensuring long-term outcomes rather than short-term fixes.
• Deliver works within tenanted properties, ensuring minimal disruption while maintaining strong communication and customer service with residents.
• Ensure all works are completed safely and to high workmanship standards, leaving properties clean, secure and fit for occupation.
• Record works completed, materials used and any additional property issues identified using mobile job management systems.
• Work independently across multiple locations, managing workload and maintaining productivity while meeting organisational service standards.
• Take ownership of repairs from identification through to completion, ensuring works are carried out safely, to a high standard and with a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
• Maintain strong compliance with health and safety regulations, ensuring safe systems of work, hazard awareness and adherence to organisational procedures in all environments.

Co-Chair – Employee & Management Forum (EMF)

Serve as Co-Chair of the organisation’s Employee & Management Forum, representing colleagues across multiple departments and acting as a key link between employees and senior leadership.

Responsibilities include:

• Supporting the leadership and coordination of EMF meetings and discussions.
• Facilitating open dialogue between colleagues and senior management on workplace matters, operational improvements and organisational initiatives.
• Representing employee views and feedback to leadership to help inform decision-making.
• Promoting effective communication across the workforce to ensure colleagues are informed, engaged and able to raise concerns or suggestions.
• Working collaboratively with other EMF representatives to strengthen employee engagement and support a positive working culture across the organisation.

• Responsible for delivering the highest level of quality, meticulous to the last touch.
• Read and understand scaled drawings.
• Follow schematics to meet the requirements of the boat layout.
• Work with tight tolerances with high valued lacquered veneers and solid wood products.
• Assemble pre-cut parts from the CNC facility.
• A proficient user of a full range of hand and power tools to cut and shape materials.
• Responsible for fitting of flooring, mirrors, blinds, door frames and furniture.
• Preparation of internal and external upholstery.

• Carrying out ground’s maintenance operations with the use of powered and non-powered machinery.
• Performing to a high standard while leading my team effectively, to provide a good quality service.
• Working to identify opportunities and finding alternative, more effective and cost-effective ways of doing things.
• Integrating a greener and more environmental policy for the contracts.
• Receiving job sheets and ensuring tasks are delegated to the appropriate persons within my team.
• Ensuring the van and trailers have been loaded with the correct equipment and materials for the task ahead.
• Communicating clearly with site managers, other trades, delivery drivers and customers.
• Ensuring a positive impression with our customers and working to exceed their expectations.

• Tile setting, drywall finish, painting, installing pre-hung doors, setting cabinets, and all-around carpentry skills.
• Strip out existing bathrooms and kitchens.
• Building and implementation of stud walls and plaster boards.
• Full fitting of new kitchen and bathroom units, including fitting and remedial works for work tops of all different materials.
• Installation of appliances, including white goods.
• Basic plumbing and electrical works.

• I started DC Garden Services straight after I left college. Garden design, horticulture and construction has always been my passion, and this led me to start the business. • Design and creation of landscaping plans to suit client’s style and budget.
• Soil testing and application of pesticides and fertilisers to grounds and lawns.
• Revitalising garden beds and borders, new planting designs for gardens.
• Garden clearance or weekly maintenance, depending on specific gardening needs.
• Operation of all ground and gardening equipment, with strict health & safety protocols established.
• Recruitment, training and development of staff. Working closely with employees to ensure jobs were completed to a high standard and all H&S protocols were followed.
• Creating marketing campaigns, with the focus on capturing new customers and clients, marketing to the local area and establishing brand loyalty.
• Communicating efficiently with customers to create a timeline of work schedules, and open communication and clarity in regards to the schedule of delivery.
• All aspects of financial accountability, including creating invoices, following procedures for late payments and end of year tax returns.
