  • Responsible for effective management of aircraft maintenance, leading teams of 30 electrical engineers to prioritise and complete daily engineering tasks while meeting demands of the operational flying programme and scheduled maintenance.
  • Conducted final stage Inspections on Aircraft control systems that are vital to air safety to ensure compliance with safety standards following any disturbances. Responsible for verifying correct assembly of components and overseeing successful completion of functional testing, before deeming the A/C serviceable and safe for flight operations.

Accomplishments

  • Led a specialist team of 12 Engineers on a 3-month scheduled maintenance deployment in USA. Working with US Air Force and American contactors, undertook depth maintenance on the highly complex Rivet Joint surveillance aircraft platform. Despite an unfamiliar work environment, balanced time and staff effectively, completing the scheduled maintenance a week ahead of the deadline, resulting in the early return of the aircraft to the UK to undertake its high priority operational role.
  • Hand-picked to lead a team of four specialist engineers on a prestigious six-month course in the USA, focusing on the intricacies of the UK’s most advanced intelligence electrical systems. Gaining in-depth knowledge of system operations, maintenance procedures, and the interpretation of associated documentation and technical drawings whilst representing the organisation in an international training environment.
  • Responsible for Test and Measuring equipment inventory worth £500,000+ with equipment held in the UK and at internationally deployed locations. Managing equipment calibration validity cycles from deployment to redeployment, undertaking critical timeline checks, dynamic plan updates and ensuring senior management updated regularly.
