  • Main duties included reviewing, investigation, and analysis of measurement and contractual issues arising from Suppliers Contract whilst reporting back to the client.
  • Producing manual measurements and take-offs using both Cost X and drawings supplied by the contractor to review the Operating Company’s claimed quantities against a Bid
  • Conducted a benchmarking exercise for the storage 25 Tonnes of road salts and reported directly to the client with the findings
  • Responsibility for Bid Reviews and Statement Review Notes for the North Units, the sources of the information come from the Risk Register and directly from the Client
  • Six schemes will be selected and Bid Reviews will be produced on an individual element within each of the six schemes
  • Monthly Ad-hoc tasks requested by Transport Scotland or PAG Commercial Manager
  • Analysing requests for new rates submitted by Suppliers and report on the justification of rates in the context of tendered rates
  • Analyse requests for payment from Suppliers and report on compliance with contracts, good practice, and value for money

  • Primarily involved in the pre contract and construction phases of the project
  • Pre Contract – After the completion of the Design Development stage, the main duties were commercial support throughout the procurement stage
  • Assisting with tender evaluations – I was responsible for ensuring that all tenders had priced on a like for like basis and made recommendations to create uniformed basis for pricing
  • Costing design changes – I provided a remeasure using cost X of the Leith Walk section of the project and liaised with designers through a technical query process
  • Assisting in the production of monthly cost reports
  • Now the Edinburgh tram is in construction phase his duties include:
  • Contract administration – I was assisting in the assessment of compensation events using CEMAR to ensure that they are received and dealt with in a timely manner
  • Costing design changes – I produced a full cost plan for the Tram Stabling using RIBA stage 3, the scope involved external works and includes hard and soft landscaping, retaining walls, electric layouts, fencing, driver walkways, concrete sleepers, buffer stops and a drive turnout
  • After this a Value Engineering exercise was conducted to determine if any of the items in the cost plan could be omitted or re-designed
  • Control of the plant tracker – I developed a plant tracker to monitor utilisation to ensure that underutilized plant was off hired or classed as not chargeable
  • Application – I was responsible for the monthly application this involved reviewing invoices against the schedule of cost components and make recommendations for disallowed costs and a review with the Contractor and Client
