Group Leader

Jaguar Land Rover
Solihull, West Midlands
2026.06 - Current
  • In my current role as a Group Leader within Plant Launch, I am responsible for leading and coordinating all activities required to deliver a successful vehicle launch, working closely with cross-functional teams such as Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, and Logistics to ensure build events are completed to plan and key milestones are achieved. My role involves owning and managing launch-related issues through systems such as ISPC, ECCAR, Jira, and AIMS, driving timely resolution within agreed targets, escalating risks where necessary, and ensuring issues are tracked through to closure. I play a critical role in supporting and validating Production Readiness, challenging insufficient evidence, and ensuring that all systems, processes, and people are fully prepared for Start of Production. Alongside this, I lead, support, and develop my team during high-pressure launch phases by allocating tasks, ensuring accountability, and maintaining engagement, performance, and wellbeing. I also ensures quality standards are consistently met, support containment and countermeasure actions, and promote a right-first-time mindset. Continuous improvement is a key focus, applying Lean Six Sigma, and Agile principles to identify inefficiencies, implement improvements, and contribute to lessons learned for future launches. One of my main strengths is communication and I utilise this regularly, including presenting updates to senior leadership, using data and dashboards to support decision-making, and providing clear reporting on risks, issues, and progress. In addition, I take responsibility for ensuring health, safety, and compliance standards are upheld by promoting safe working practices and supporting risk assessments. Other skills I utilise in this role include, strong leadership and decision-making, the ability to perform under pressure, excellent communication and stakeholder management, a proactive problem-solving mindset, and a high level of accountability and ownership.

Product Coach

Jaguar Land Rover
Solihull, West Midlands
2024.06 - 2026.06

In my role as a Product Coach / stand in Group Leader, I am responsible for introducing new models and model year updates into the manufacturing production environment. I work closely with parts designers, process engineers, and facility engineers from the early virtual engineering stages through to assembly associates on the production line, ensuring a smooth and efficient transition into the build hall. I am currently supporting the X900 JEA model, which is an exciting and high-profile programme to be involved in.

My key responsibilities include updating ISPC and Health charts, validating parts and processes, delivering training to production operatives, identifying ergonomic and health and safety risks, writing Work Element Sheets (WES), and managing issues using structured problem-solving techniques through systems such as AIMS.

In addition, I have earned the respect of my fellow coaches, having been voted in as a Pulse Champion, and I have successfully completed my Mental Health First Aid qualification, further enabling me to support both performance and wellbeing within the team.

I also lead a team and see myself as a role model, demonstrating a Creator’s Code mindset and a strong can-do attitude. I lead in a positive and proactive manner, encouraging continuous improvement within my team and regularly reflecting on opportunities to enhance performance and ways of working.

By leveraging my Six Sigma qualifications, I bring a structured problem-solving approach to the eNPS Committee. I collaborate with a cross-functional team to identify root-cause issues contributing to low eNPS participation rates and scores, and help develop effective, data-driven improvement actions

Production Operative

Jaguar Land Rover
Solihull, West Midlands
2014.07 - 2024.06
  • At Jaguar Land Rover my main role is on the production line, making sure I complete my tasks in the scheduled time. I have excelled at Jaguar Land Rover, and this has seen me being involved in the prototype builds where I was a leader in my certain area, and I was selected for quality checking the cars before they reach the customer. During the Prototype build I was involved heavily in the quality process which I was regularly checking measurements and any imperfections in the material. I have gained respect from my fellow workers and management, this was apparent when I was voted in as the health and safety representative, which itself has some very big responsibilities. I attended regular meetings and discussed ways of improving the company and helping with the push forward to the future, most notably Destination Zero. During my time as a Health and Safety representative I reached a Health and Safety level 2 certificate at South Birmingham College, and I took this experience when I was selected to present Health and Safety courses across the Jaguar Land Rover site. In December 2022, I was enrolled onto the Group Leader Academy courses. After discussions with my line manager we agreed that this would be a great opportunity for me to show my leadership skills and progress within the company. In January 2024 I passed the DC and now hope to continue my growth with JLR

The company grew and my changes helped this small family run business grow into a company now known internationally. I Custom designed specifications and internal work for flight cases. This involved carefully measuring equipment and communicating with customers over the telephone, email and in person. I set and operated various saw machines, manual tools, grinders and spray booths.
