Work History

Trainee Technical Support

Heron House Financial Management
Newport, South Wales
07.2024 - 09.2024
  • Trusted with handling and updating sensitive client data which is used to guide the financial advice provided to each client
  • Worked with the administration team post meeting to ensure all client information is correctly documented and up to date
  • Attended client meetings and was trusted to accurately complete meeting notes which were then presented to the clients post meeting

Working at Heron House was perfect for learning how an office environment operates and understanding the machinations of a financial services business.

I feel I have a deeper understanding of how financial management companies conduct their business and sitting in on some client meetings has taught me how to interact with clients appropriately.

Volunteering

  • Uganda: In July 2022, I spent two weeks in Uganda alongside other volunteers building a playground in Nalango Primary School for underprivileged children. It was by far the best experience I have had. It was a privilege to be able to make a positive impact to the lives of these children. It was truly incredible getting to know them and to support their education was a life changing experience. I am so glad I did this and I wish to do more volunteering in the future.
  • Duke of Edinburgh, In order to achieve my bronze Duke of Edinburgh award I volunteered in a Sue Ryder charity shop for 6 weeks. It was my first time working in any capacity and taught me vital life skills. of the basics of working. Completing tasks like taking inventory, working with others, and completing tasks from intuition and not just from order are great transferrable skills that I learned during my tenure volunteering.
