In my current role I have a more in-depth responsibility of sensitive equipment for all over the ship. This can vary from main sensors for the Dual Fuel LNG/MGO run Engines, CCTV, The Fire detection system, Navigational bridge equipment, the main IAMCS automation system etc.
As the most senior automation engineer on my current vessel, I have also been responsible for the mentorship to several new engineers that have recently joined the team, something I can also say that has become a rewarding aspect of my work. I’ve been a part of several Drydock operations with my company and in the last several years specifically I have been involved in all three of the latest releases of ships, being selected for all of the commissioning/warranty stages of Disney cruise lines’ Triton Class ships.

In this role I was in charge of motor starter/control circuits all LV distribution systems from 690, 400, 220 and 110 along with all of their corresponding consumers from an electrical perspective, i.e galley equipment, stateroom appliances etc. I maintained operation of the ship’s elevators and managed a team of assistant electrical engineers and general-purpose electricians.
