
I'm a Series Editor/Series Producer with extensive experience of managing factual series for major channels including the BBC and Warner Bros Discovery. I'm edept at managing teams and working with high profile presenters and have a strong editorial and journalistic background, having worked on flagship BBC news and current affairs strands such as Panorama, Newsnight and The Money Programme.
As SP on this successful BBC One series (20 x 30") my responsibilities included: working closely with BBC commissioners and the Exec Producer to set the editorial content for the series and individual episode; writing scripts and running orders; managing a large production team, including researchers, shooting teams and runners; working closely with presenters to develop scripts and on-screen performances; casting contributors to ensure engaging content that reflected audience requirements; and overseeing all compliance with BBC and Ofcom guidelines.
During this period, I was a freelance Producer/Director, making a range of current affairs and factual programmes for companies including ITN, Voltage and other independent production companies. This included a series of ITN party political leaders profiles for ITV's coverage of the 2017 General Election, and a Channel 4 'Dispatches' documentary investigating the London property boom.
During this period, I Produced and Directed a number of primetime BBC documentaries for the Business & History department, including an investigation into the BP Deepwater Horizon disaster, which won the Wincott Award for Best Business documentary of the year.
This role involved Producing and Directing 30" documentary programmes examining a wide range of business and consumer issues, including an investigation into the PPI scandal.
During this period, I was a P/D and AP on a range of programmes for this flagship current affairs series. This included scripting, booking guests for live and 'as live' studio programmes and extensive foreign filming. Strong journalism and editorial awareness were key parts of this role
As a Producer on this flagship news strand, my responsbilities included booking guests; scripting and conducting interviews; briefing presenters; working alongside editors to produce running orders; and working on the film team to create insightful investigations into a range of current affairs issues
During this period, after completing the BBC's Producer Training Scheme (1996-1998) I worked on a range of BBC TV programmes, including Science series such as 'Tomorrow's World' and Louis Theroux documentaries.
As a political researcher, I worked for several Members of Parliament and a cross-party policy commission, drafting speeches, supporting constiuency casework and tabling motions and questions.
