Highly dedicated and motivated Planning professional with a passion for leading efficient Project delivery. An eye for detail when it comes to programmes and their contents, with a clear vision for best practice and delivery in which I confidently lead from the front to ensure both external and internal objectives are met. A true motivation to lead a team of Planners where cohesion and vision are at the forefront of everything we do.
Since April 2025 I have stepped into the role Head of Department for Planning within the business. On top of being a full time Planner and managing my own schemes, I have sole responsibility for the Planning function business wide, with a team of Planners under me. Duties and responsibilities consist of (but not limited to):
Since February 2023 I have been developing as a Planner within the business under the guidance of the Planning Manager. This has consisted of learning and understanding Planning Principles, Software Training (Microsoft Project and Primavera P6) as well as attending external courses such as Software Advanced Courses and Commercial Awareness courses with CECA. Within 18 months I had gone from a Trainee without any prior Construction experience, to being a full time Planner managing numerous schemes effectively and independently.
I am confident in all aspects of Planning and managing schemes throughout their entirety. I always strive and pride myself on providing detailed programme submissions, as well as liaising with our Site Teams and Clients to ensure smooth project delivery. I also have very high awareness of the Commercial aspects of Planning, and how they integrate to substantiate change within the Clause 60's process. To date, I have upwards of £3.5m of implemented CE value where I have produced a Clause 62/Impacted Programme to support the quotation.
My main attributes (but not limited to) are:
Whilst posted to the Infantry Training Centre, it was my responsibility as a Training Instructor to turn 48 ordinary civilians into fully qualified and competent Infantry Soldiers ready to deploy on operations around the world. This involved things such as:
Certifying them in their critical output tests, as well as developing recruits falling short of the standard whilst maintaining a high standard output of the rest.
I was also recognised by my chain of command and subordinates in every course intake I have participated in, being awarded The Best Section Commander award every year. This was voted by my Superiors above me and subordinates below me who recognised my high standard level of instruction, professional working manner and my willingness to go above and beyond what was required of me.
I joined the 1st Battalion Royal Irish Regiment in 2013. I became part of a highly professional, dedicated and operationally focused unit. The ethos of 1 Royal Irish is outstanding teamwork and professionalism in order to achieve every mission set out to us. I had the opportunity to display this in many military exercises around the world, including the UK, The Falklands, Kenya, Spain and Norway. My high standard of operating and professionalism, saw me climb through the ranks and reaching the rank of Corporal. This meant I had the privilege of commanding soldiers on the ground, both on exercises and on operations.
I've completed 2 tours of Afghanistan, in 2017/18, and 2019/20. It saw me part of the NATO Resolute Support Mission based out of Kabul. I was responsible for the security of high-ranking NATO and government advisors by means of a Close Protection detail, whilst they conducted their mission of training and mentoring Afghan Forces.
As the Team Leader, it saw me have overall command of the detail, as well as the NATO advisors. My team provided assets such as:
