Starting from the age of fourteen I left school and worked part-time for a neighbouring farm running a suckling herd. During which I studied maths and English GCSE at home. Going on to complete AI, Telehandler, chainsaw, Body condition scoring, scanning and advanced herdsperson courses. Throughout the next few years I advanced my knowledge of agriculture and tractor driving working at various farms under different bosses, meeting lots of new people.
Non-smoker and clean driving license.
Night shift ploughing for the first month, then front and side mowers for the rest of the season.
Mowing, tedding, twin and four-rotor raking, small/ big square and round fusion bailing, bale carting, bale stacking, grain carting, pushing up grain/drying, ploughing, sub-soiling, power harrowing, slurry tanking/umbilical, silage hauling, muck spreading and digger work.
bailing; moving, stacking and delivering long distance with tractor.
Some drilling of stubble turnips and kale.
Apprenticeship through Bicton working on the farm;
Milking, feeding up, fertilizing and tractor driving (Tanking, rolling and general trailer work).
Moving bales, Cleaning out sheds, tractor trailer work, cattle work and calving.
