  • Promoted to Merrist Wood in 2013 to take on the challenge of improving course conditions and greens agronomy
  • Greens were poor with accumulation of thatch right down to 70mm so heavy cultural work was required to improve playing surfaces
  • This work had to be well communicated with the membership and relevant committees
  • Within my time we reduced the need for temporary greens by 75%
  • With drainage improvements the course managed to stay open with buggies & trolleys usage improved significantly
  • Won the company award - Course manager of the year
  • My work here led to me being promoted to the role of Regional Course Manager at Cams Hall
