  • Started in 2005 as a warehouse operative and worked my way up to become a Shift Manager working within a very busy environment, including:
  • Working to tight deadlines and schedules.
  • Last month, I was able to become HGV driver and do some deliveries across the country to the customers.
  • Manage and motivate the shift team of around 50 Operatives (including Team Leaders) in order to ensure that productivity and service KPI's are achieved and exceeded.
  • Ensure the highest possible levels of health, safety and hygiene are upheld so that legislative and quality requirements can be complied with, ensuring relevant paperwork is completed and retained.
  • Deliver communication briefings so that all shifts are aware of all company and local issues; allow employees to offer input and improvements.
  • Manage Goods Inwards area to ensure that receipts are made quickly and without damaging goods so that stock is available to satisfy orders
  • Develop all team members so that their contributions to the warehouse can be maximised and succession plan
  • Offer regular feedback, formal and informal, on team and individual performance, including behavioural issues and highlighting good performance and areas for further development
