I am a Registered Nurse with a long experience working in diverse healthcare settings. I always have been highly committed to improve the health (physical, emotional and social) status of patients or service users and always strived to practise with high standards of competency even in high pressure environments. I have been honoured multiple times with recognition by patients and families by improving their care experience and by institutions by aiming to achieve their goals. Behind that mutual satisfaction is my empathetic person-focus approach, my searching for problem-solving in collaboration with diverse professionals of the team and above all "running the extra-mile" to accomplish the "client's" wishes and attending to their concerns. I am always striving to excel my practice and so I am continuously focused in my personal/ professional development and sharing the best practices with other members of the team.
As a Registered Nurse working in acute wards has been my duties:
to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team maintaining professional, clear and kind communication;
In a day-by-day basis: I continually asses, plan and implement the patient's care needs, administer medication as prescribed, I check vital signs and act accordingly, I escalate care in case of medical or social concerns (ex; safeguarding cases) and I act swiftly in deteriorating patients.
Due to my experience for four years working in a Respiratory ward I was trained in Non-Invasive Ventilation (BiPAP, CPAP, High flow Oxygen), Tracheostomies and Laryngectomies care, titrating oxygen administration and gained clinical experience in dealing with the signs and symptoms of patients with a broad range of respiratory illnesses.
Ultimately my care practise is based on a person-centred approach working in partnership with the patients and relatives, respecting patient's wishes and rights and advocating in their best interest.
I was working closely with the nurses and other HCA's to provide personal care to patients while in hospital, to assist them with their daily life activities, monitoring vital signs and assisting nurses with patients assessments.
My duties were:
My main aim was to provide the highest standards of holistic individualised care / support to clients, living in their own homes or to them living at nursing homes or care homes, under my scope of practice.
My work was based in observance of the individual care plan of service users and recording the activities executed, progresses or concerns noticed.
My experience was mainly to assist service users living in a Residential Home, in all aspects of their daily life activities in a person-centred way. I was motivated to stimulate their physical, intellectual and social activities. I was striving to make them feel comfortable, happy and safe in observing the policies and procedures of the work place and the Laws and Policies of the country.
I have worked closely under supervision from registered nurses contributing to efficient workflow within the facility:
