CLASSROOM ASSISTANT

· Assist the teacher with the support and care of pupil(s)

· Develop an understanding of the specific needs of the pupil(s) to be supported.

· Contribute to the inclusion of the pupil in mainstream schools under the directions of the class teacher.

. Establish a supportive relationship with the pupils concerned.

· Prepare and produce appropriate resources to support pupil(s)

· Supervise groups of pupils, or individual pupils on specified activities .

. assist with off-site activities.

· Assist with classroom administration.

• Through telephone contact worked as part of a team of contact tracers who provided the first point of contact of cases of COVID-19 during pandemic
• Delivery of initial public health risk assessment of COVID-19 cases identified for contact tracing ,in line with the contact tracing and management protocol and further protocols or guidance as indicated .
• Provision of advice to cases and their contacts as directed by protocols and procedures.
• Completion of accurate, up to date records of contacts/action by completion of relevant records

Job Purpose

• To improve and ensure successful delivery of statutory and other services to MND population in Northern Ireland , through

Formal Negotiation / Business Case presentation/ and

Campaigning

• Create and develop relationships with key stakeholders
• Use evidence and intelligence to determine priorities and create and implement plans to address these.
• Maintain operational relationships with care center and networks.
• Ensure completion of Transforming MND Care audit and implement improvement plans from these.
• Ensure NICE guidelines and quality standards are being followed.
• Manage the resolution of escalated issues for people affected by MND through referral/ intervention/ provision of support to other staff members and volunteers.
• Working with other national teams( eg Education and Information Team ), using intelligence gathered to contribute to the creation and delivery of national and regional education plans and Associations national policies.

Job Purpose

SERVICE DEVELOPEMENT

• work proactively with statutory , voluntary and independent sector to promote and influence provision of timely and equitable access to coordinated network of care for people with MND and their carers .

PATIENT/ CARER SUPPORT

• Provision of information and emotional support to people living with MND and their families whether that be through support groups/ carers days/ verbal or written information, domiciliary visits.

EDUCATION

• work in partnership with National Head of Information and Education to deliver bespoke education plan within NI
• Review and identify the Educational needs of Health and Social care professionals / MND population with the region and deliver education session accordingly.

VOLUNTEER SUPPORT

• assist on recruitment of Association Visitors
• support delivery of volunteer induction training and ongoing training and development needs
• lead volunteer team to provide support to people living with MND and their families and carers

MAINTIAN CLINICAL KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE

Lead Clinician in Stroke Rehabilitation - Band 8A

• Assessment and diagnosis of Speech and Language and Swallowing difficulties post Stroke
• management of highly complex caseload
• Recruitment , support and training of Rehabilitation Assistants
• Delivery of Intensive treatment plans within a Multidisciplinary community Setting
• Contribution towards national clinical guidelines for this clinical group.
• Continued Professional Development activities with roles on Special Interest Groups and representation on National Committees
• Principal Investigator for National Randomized Control Trial CACTUS.
• Design, delivery and evaluation of training courses for a variety of audiences from professional colleagues, assistants, patient and family groups.
