A number of my investigations received regional and national press coverage.

  • Designed, implemented and maintained vulnerability detection, support and investigation within the economic crime team that improved efficiency and protected victims from losing more than £400,000 in 2017 and recovered £2.2 Million in Proceeds of Crime.
  • Designed the force’s response to cyber related crime, dependent and enabled crime before forensic analysis. Source and budgeted for training and infrastructure to enable the force to respond to cyber related fraud and ransomware attacks.
  • Led and directed serious and complex cases involving the detection of criminal activity funded by proceeds of crime, seizing money, forfeiting and confiscating assets to undermine those activities.
  • Won the Lord Ferrer’s award for innovative volunteering in London 2017 with my forensic accountant volunteer.
  • Recognised as a subject matter expert in crime recording against Home Office standards and associated IT functionality and data warehousing. I am a Home Office registered crime registrar.
  • Appropriate Authority for the force I was responsible for the assessment of severity discipline cases and breaches of the standards of professional behaviour and code of ethics for all police officers and police staff across the force. Regardless of rank or role, I made daily decisions on behalf of the Chief Constable using the scheme of delegation.
  • I designed and initiated a new Merseyside Independent Advisory Group to test the voracity, professionalism and timeliness of our investigations and the public were able, for the first time, to hold Merseyside police to account over complaints and misconduct.
  • I was the force’s lead on child sexual exploitation (CSE) and wrote implemented and trained staff on the force’s approaches to detection, partnership working and investigation of these offences, attracting national critical acclaim.
  • I was responsible for successfully guiding the entire investigations department (1000 personnel) through the COVID period 2018/2020, introducing structured working from home practices under business continuity protocols.
  • Numerous commendations for my work over 30 years including successful prosecutions for serious and complex crimes, victim support and tenacity in the face of adversity.
