Hobbies and Interests

I am a father of two young boys, so this ensures most of my spare time is taken up providing as many exciting experiences for them, as possible. I love spending time with them and supporting them with their hobbies - football, swimming and indoor rock-climbing.  Aside from spending time with my family, I enjoy walking and hiking, playing chess and reading. I love to be outdoors and enjoy spending time surrounded by the natural world. Every few years, I like to take part in a physical challenge for charity. I really like to push myself and try something difficult, as I like the sense of achievement attained afterwards. I have supported many causes in the last fourteen years including Water Aid, CALM, Cancer Research and Parkinson's UK. My challenges have included rowing a boat down the Thames, a sky dive, completing the Tough Mudder and doing the National Three Peaks Challenge.

Before I became a teacher, I enjoyed travelling and working abroad. I have worked in China, South Africa, Kenya and Italy and have traveled around many countries in Asia, Africa and Europe. I enjoyed experiencing new cultures and customs.
