As an employee, I believe that it is important to not only have a shared goal with the team but to work together. Sometimes that means I may have to manage the workload of another team member due to unforeseen circumstance. Regardless of the situation, it is important to ensure tasks are completed as intended but to also ensure that the team is working in a healthy environment.
As a kitchen staff member I acted as the relay between the front of house and the back. I ensured that orders were run and paired based on proximity so that customers would receive their food in a timely manner regardless of peak hours (40 tickets in line). I was also tasked with packing the food and organising meals in a way that would not damage the contents.
Job responsibilities:
As a waiter I had a strong ability to please our guests wants and needs, I was able to manage multiple tables at once. Ensuring that any sudden requests were met with great haste and to a high efficacy. My job also entailed cleaning the tables, reseting them as per fine dining standard. Beyond that I would actively seek out extra work from my boss if there wasn't a need for me on the floor.
Job responsibilities:
At the end of my first year of my BSc I earned the student award for outstanding contribution towards the course and the department this was due to my involvement in spreading awareness for breast cancer in our town centre as well as my own scientific research.
