Managing across two competing portfolios - Training (capability/capacity development) and Standards (risk‑based assurance) for over 3,500 drivers, 600 vehicles across England, Wales and Scotland. Accountable for strategy, policy, licensing, compliance, commercial contracts, people development, and incident learning in a highly regulated environment. • Strategic Leadership: Set national training strategy; chaired NPCC groups; shaped UK police driver training policy.

• instrumental in establishing a national Driver Training Unit from the ground up, including stakeholder engagement, project management, and collaboration with the Police Authority and Chief Officers.
• Led recruitment and onboarding for the unit, working with HR to design job descriptions, conduct interviews, and build a national high performing team.
• Delivered strategic briefings to secure senior leadership approval for operational plans and training frameworks.
• Produced detailed written reports, presented evidence, and defended decisions at senior governance levels.
• Directed the national rollout of EV Police response vehicles, collaborating with international policing partners (Western Australia, Iceland, Pasadena, Michigan State Police), vehicle manufacturers, and conversion specialists to set new UK standards.
