I am a highly adaptable and resilient Registered Nurse with a career built in some of the most high-pressure clinical environments in both Romania and the UK. My journey began at the National Institute of Infectious Diseases "Matei Balș", where I developed a rigorous foundation in infection control and emergency patient support.
Following this, I spent four years (2021–2025) as a Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care & Toxicology unit at Bucharest Emergency Clinical Hospital (Floreasca). This period was defining for my career; I spent those years at the bedside of the most critically ill patients, managing complex toxicological emergencies, polytrauma, and septic shock in a high-volume, Level I trauma center.
Currently, I am applying that extensive critical care background to the Accident & Emergency department at Stoke Mandeville Hospital. I thrive in the fast-paced "front door" of the NHS, where I combine my technical ICU expertise with the rapid-fire decision-making required in A&E. Whether I am managing a resus room, stabilizing a trauma patient, or supporting someone through a mental health crisis, my focus is always on clinical safety and treating every patient with genuine empathy. I am a calm head in a crisis and a dedicated team player who understands that in emergency medicine, every second counts.
In my role within the A&E department at Stoke Mandeville, I provide high-standard emergency care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. Working at a site known for its specialist services means I manage a diverse patient caseload, ranging from minor injuries and acute medical emergencies to major trauma presentations.
I am proficient in managing life-threatening conditions, including cardiac arrest, respiratory distress, and sepsis. I regularly administer emergency medications and assist with advanced procedures like intubation and chest drain insertion.
Collaborated with consultants, registrars, paramedics, and site management to ensure patient flow and safety during high-pressure periods.
Supported and supervised student nurses and healthcare assistants, promoting continuous learning and clinical excellence on the ward.
Working in the Toxicology ICU at Floreasca was an incredibly demanding role that shaped me into the nurse I am today. It’s one of the busiest emergency hospitals in the country, and I was responsible for patients at their most vulnerable—often arriving with life-threatening complications from multiple suicide attempts, severe poisoning, or major polytrauma.
I was at the bedside of patients in septic shock or with multiple traumatic injuries. I’m comfortable managing ventilators, titrating vasopressors to keep blood pressure stable, and monitoring invasive lines (Arterial/CVP) in high-stakes situations.
In this ICU, things changed in seconds. Whether it was a sudden cardiac arrest or a patient’s condition spiraling from sepsis, I developed the "poker face" and the quick hands needed to stay calm and effective under pressure.
Dealing with patients who had attempted suicide required a specific kind of empathy and patience. I learned how to provide high-level medical care while also ensuring a safe, non-judgmental environment for someone in a mental health crisis.
Working in the ED at Matei Balș was a real "front-line" experience. It’s the primary hub for infectious diseases, which meant I was constantly balancing high-speed emergency care with the strict discipline of infection control.
I became a pro at PPE and isolation protocols. Whether it was meningitis, severe respiratory infections, or unknown tropical fevers, I knew exactly how to maintain a sterile environment and prevent cross-contamination while still providing fast care.
As an HCA, I was the "boots on the ground," making sure the department kept moving while keeping patients and staff safe.
It’s scary for a patient to be in an isolation booth surrounded by people in suits. I made it a priority to be the person who checked in on them, helped with their basic needs, and offered a bit of comfort while taking their vitals or assisting with procedures.
