I have been a self employed illustrator and publisher for the past fifteen years. I have also been an art teacher / mentor to both children and adults, and have worked closely with those that have SEND needs. A couple of years ago I was beginning to feel suffocated and trapped working from home and felt I needed to be around people. I reached out to try a new direction in life and took on a role as a support worker for adults with learning difficulties and I haven’t looked back. It has been a tonic for me and an area that I have thrived in.
I am an enthusiastic and caring individual with exceptional communication skills both written and verbally. I am known for remaining calm under pressure, providing a warm and safe environment, and adapting easily to new procedures and cultural contexts. I am committed to maintaining a safe and comfortable experience for people in any role undertaken and excel at creating calm, positive, and supportive environments-even in challenging situations.
I thrive in fast-paced, customer care settings and excel at building rapport with people from diverse backgrounds. I have worked and built relationships with people from all walks of life over the years and feel like I adapt well into any new setting. As much as I excel as a team player I have also taken leadership roles in the past and seem to be the go to person in groups when things need some calm and focus.
Bringing years of real-world experience and strong interpersonal skills, I excel at understanding people’s needs and creating a reassuring, friendly atmosphere. I learn new procedures quickly and enjoy working in environments where calm decision-making and compassion matter.
