Working as part of a very busy kitchen team, I had responsibility for preparing and cooking food to order within a fast-paced environment. The role demanded excellent time management and efficiency to meet customer expectation. A great introduction to the importance of clear, efficient communication between team members.
I learned to work alongside a team and independently. I proved that I was able to push myself in order to reach targets and goals set by my managers. As this was my first sales job it was a great learning curve in teaching me how to interact and speak with clients/ members of the public. Eventually I ran 1 to 1 consultations with clients, selling the companies products. Due to my outgoing characteristics networking and communicating with clients came fairly naturally, however this job role definitely allowed me to build my confidence but also initiative when responding to client requests.
My current responsibilities at Pioneer include the safe installation of electrical appliances in housing association blocks. I have to agree a sale and a price with the residents before fitting. From this role I have really developed my communication skills and ability to sell products to different characters of people. I have also show my loyalty and incredible work ethic by picking up lots of overtime hours, as well as working weekends if the opportunity arose.
