  • Worked with a variety of species, most being rescued animals with additional needs, including domestics, livestock, small mammals, exotics, and a variety of avian species.
  • Completing general husbandry tasks such as cleaning and maintenance of enclosures, providing animals with feed containing their required essential nutrients portioned within their feeding schedules, general grooming, and safely transferring between enclosures.
  • Proper handling and restraint of animals to ensure they had access to safe and appropriate enclosures e.g. safely moving the rabbits from their indoor enclosures to their outdoor enclosures during the day, and safely leading horses and donkeys between stables and fields.
  • Effective communication within a small team and an exceptionally high standard of time-management due to the amplified need to achieve tasks quickly and efficiently as the sanctuary houses over 500 animals.
  • Completing temperament and behaviour observations to ensure the health and safety of the animals and myself before entering enclosures.

PERSONAL SUMMARY

As someone that enjoys acquiring new knowledge, I spend time reading, watching documentaries, and listening to podcasts generally themed around zoology and conservation. I also partake in a range of recreational activities such as casual equine sport, attending live music shows and art exhibitions, playing video games on a variety of consoles, wildlife walks, and spending time with my rabbits.
