Skills

  • Pastoral care - Coming alongside people especially at difficult points in their lives is an important part of what I do and I see this as an important part of what I am able to offer those outside of the Church fellowship This is often coming alongside people as they grieve as part of facilitating funerals but has also been getting alongside people with mental health concerns including those struggling with issues of self-harm
  • Preaching and teaching - I seek to explore and explain the Bible in a way that makes sense to people, I want to help people to understand it, an important part of moving to application and transformation This is always aspirational but is something people have said they have found I have achieved, at least at times Going deeper doesn’t have to mean making it more complicated
  • Leading religious service - This is of course an important part of what I do and I have sought to do this in a variety of ways engaging with a variety of styles from more liturgical services to all-age, family worship
  • Project coordination - Planning and preparation are two skills I think I have that are important Knowing that what we are doing has a part to play in a bigger picture, what that part is and how it contributes to that bigger picture are important as we look to be strategic in our pursuit of the calling God has placed on His Church, to fulfil the Great Commission and to love God and our neighbours

Affiliations

  • Outside of the Ministry I enjoy a busy family life with my wife, three children and our dog as well as an interest in Military History and Tabletop Wargaming and Miniature painting.
