Lead Maintenance Technician

As Lead Technician my role doesn't differ too much from previous role however I have increased responsibilities to the job such as:

  • Leading in the completing of projects on time by effectively managing resources, scheduling labour, and obtaining necessary materials in advance
  • Managing spare parts stock, maintaining appropriate levels to minimize downtime and ensuring cost-effective reordering.
  • Serving as primary point of contact between site supervisors, to discuss upcoming work, and suppliers, ensuring clear communication regarding parts delivery timelines and specifications.
  • Supervising technicians and assigning responsibilities.
  • Training technicians on proper maintenance procedures, good working practices and root cause analysis striving for continuous improvement.
  • Conducting risk assessments & method statements and ensuring Health and Safety regulations are being adhered to during work activities.
  • Performing Condition Based Monitoring to detect developing faults in machinery in order to prevent unexpected failures and reduce downtime.
  • Completing maintenance reports on repairs carried out on machinery.

As Contractors working mainly during shutdowns at pharmaceutical manufacturing sites my duties and responsibilities consisted of:

  • Completing preventive and reactive maintenance on equipment such as single & 3-phase motors, pumps, gearboxes, fans and AHU's
  • Assisting in the completion of projects on time by working on planned in maintenance work on equipment and informing Lead Technician of any unforseen replacement parts and components required such as damaged shafts, false shafts, mechanical seals, impellers and bearings.
  • Adhering to Health & Safety regulations during work activities.
  • Informing Lead Technician of any parts used for the purpose of replacing any used from inventory and including them in reports on work undertaken.

  • Assisting in the rewinding of single and 3-phase motors, learning each step of the process.
