I worked for IQED as an independent consultant. Roles included visiting people at their home or work to perform medical screening as a result of their application for life insurance. Skills required included:

Venepuncture

Near patient testing for Glucose and Cholesterol.

Blood Pressures.

• It was always my desire to work within the setting of General Practice, I was thrilled when I was offered the position at Mullion
• Over the years I have continued my professional development, I am now able to perform Cervical Cytology, baby immunisations, travel health advice, as well as spirometry plus many other learnt skills
• In 2011 I undertook a Asthma degree level course with Warwick University, as a result I am now involved with the chronic disease management of people with Asthma
• The role has proved everything I hoped it would.

• I moved to Cornwall, and secured a post at Outpatients in Redruth, Here I continued my professional development
• I became instrumental in the setting up and provision of a community dressings clinic, to offer weekend dressings, this then grew to a daily service
• Within this clinic I did Post op Wound care, then subsequently chronic wound care
• Further more I also Was involved in the procurement of a UVB Machine from charitable sources, then set up a permanent clinic to offer Light therapy to patients in the Camborne/Redruth area.

• I qualified in 1997, where I started my career working in the outpatient setting, here I learnt many basic nursing skills, as well as extending my advanced skill base
• Whilst working in this setting I developed my position by becoming a specialist in Dermatology, where I ran a UVB unit for the treatment of various skin conditions
• I also was instrumental in the setting up and provision of a community Dressings clinic
• 5 Years ago I moved into the field of practice Nursing, where I continued to develop my nursing knowledge, to include Cervical Cytology, Travel Immunisations
• Baby immunisations, Spirometry, Chronic disease management of Asthma, Amongst several other developed skills
• I particularly enjoy this role, as it enables me to care for a wide variety of different client bases
• Here as stated before I developed many skills, particularly within the field of dermatology, where I ran a nurse led clinic for the provision of UVB Light therapy, and also a leg Ulcer dressings clinic, as well as some care of children with eczema I learnt the importance of Caring for various groups of clients, both young and old
• I also learnt how to maintain good time management within a clinic setting.
