A not-for-profit entity based in the City where a small, specialised team manages a loan book of c£8bn and cash flows in excess of £1.5bn annually.

• As part of a hands-on senior leadership team grew the loan book from £1bn to £8bn
• Lead and managed the financial reporting process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with UK GAAP and IFRS
• Responsible for all aspects of company secretarial and compliance with relevant legislation
• Provided financial input to public offering circulars and tender documents
• IT and systems development/implementation

Company Overview: Bilingual People Limited is a small multi-lingual recruitment company based in central London.

The company had been established for eight years and, in common with many businesses of a similar size, has focussed principally on growth. My primary brief therefore was to ensure that the finances were efficiently run, adequate controls were in place and to implement regular monthly reporting for management.

Company Overview: Trinity Mirror Plc a major publisher of national and regional newspapers with a turnover of £1bn.

Responsible for all financial and statutory reporting for entire group.Group financial accounting and reporting including group policy and compliance with accounting standards

Company Overview: Sky television is a leading national non-terrestrial broadcasting company based in the UK. Market leader launch in 1989 initially on satellite and cable. Following the merger of Sky and BSB in 1990 combined losses reached £759m. Operating profit was achieved in 1993 and stock market floatation in 1996.

Responsible for setting up and maintaining financial control during a unique and volatile business start-up period and again following the acquisition of BSB in 1990. Responsible for all financial reporting and associated compliance issues.

Company Overview: News International Newspapers Limited is the UK operating division of News International Plc publisher of major UK newspapers and magazines including The Times, The Sunday Times, Today, The Sun and the News of the World. Turnover £650m

Responsible for preparation of group monthly and quarterly consolidated accounts, cash flow forecasting and accounting integration of News (UK) Limited (Today newspaper).

Main responsibility was performing operational reviews within group companies and also secondment to subsidiaries to provide support and operational cover.
