Responsible for Fishery Patrols on North Morecambe Bay in all seasons and weathers to principally interrupt Cockle poaching activities on closed Cockle beds on the Bay.

The Winter period of November and December 2009 was particularly severe and patrols were maintained on the bay to counteract poaching. This was mostly done on foot and quad bike and sometimes lone working but mostly in pairs.

This was 90 percent outdoors in all weathers with the remaining ten percent dealing with record keeping and maintenance issues.

Morecambe Bay in Winter is bleak Cold and hazardous but I have got to say I thoroughly enjoyed it.
