  • 3 x 4 month rotations in the following specialties: Old Age Psychiatry, Paediatrics and GP.
  • Old Age Psychiatry - managing medical problems of the patients on the ward, participating in family care plan and MDT meetings. Covering the entire psychiatry department out of hours, using de-escalating techniques and assessing patients in A&E presenting in a mental health crisis.
  • Paediatrics - documenting ward rounds, assessing unwell children referred from A&E/GPs, clinical procedures and preparing discharge scripts.
  • GP - used leadership skills in order to lead my own clinics reviewing and assessing patients with acute and chronic health problems. Time management skills were crucial to ensuring appointments did not run late. Managing a diverse range of issues and thinking on the spot to create a management plan using local guidelines.
