I helped to set up and run an Education Centre for a hospital ward. The patients were inpatients aged 11-17 with a range of psychiatric illnesses. We provided a bespoke and therapeutic curriculum for 20 hours a week. Their education was part of their treatment programme, raising self esteem and integrating back into a school environment.
Strong people skills and organisational skills were essential. I recently retired from teaching and want to explore opportunities in a new field.
