  • Manage a team of Recognition & Benefits assistants.
  • Organise award ceremonies for long service, retirements and reward schemes including preparation of all speech material and gifts.
  • Improve, implement and maintain all Benefits for SE employees including but not limited to Health Insurance, Cycle to work scheme, EV car scheme.
  • Manage, collaborate and maintain the Employee Recognition platform called Extra Mile.
  • Build and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders to make sure SE had the best benefits and recognition programme for colleagues.
  • During this time, I was also tasked with managing our occupational health processes and procedures due to a colleague's absence during this time, I created and implemented a more streamlined process for our OH processes which included creating and hiring a new time dedicated to looking after our OH.

  • Create and maintain the personal files for all HQ employees, senior managers and directors, ensuring they are stored securely and managed in accordance with the Company's personal files procedure.
  • Provide administrative support to the HR Admin Team Leader and HR Systems & Benefits Manager as required.
  • Input relevant information onto the HR database including, new starts and medical results in a timely manner to ensure records are accurate and up to date.
  • Organise award ceremonies for long service, retirements and reward schemes including preparation of all speech material and gifts.
  • Undertake the administration of any new company benefits schemes that are available to eligible employees.
  • Assist the Area HR Managers/Officers with carrying out HR Audits to ensure HR policies and procedures are being implemented appropriately throughout the business.
  • Administer the Company's reward schemes, ensuring vouchers are stored, issued and recorded in accordance with Company procedures and all nominations are followed through to conclusion to enable employees to be rewarded in a timely manner.
  • Administer the company's employment referencing and ID card procedures, ensuring deadlines are met and all necessary information is recorded to comply with DfT requirements and Company procedures.
  • Updating and creating content for the Extra Mile Platform.
  • Uploading master files from Oracle to the Extra Mile Platform weekly to ensure we capture changes I.E leavers, joiners, and name changes.
  • Looking after our Extra Mile support inbox and liaising with Reward Gateway and their team to ensure any issues are dealt with in a timely manner.
  • In my role as HR Assistant, I was constantly looking to collaborate with other departments in HR and the wider company by collaborating on projects or initiating them.

Accomplishments

During my time in SE Trains, I won over 8 Bronze awards for my work in my role and also my projects that were outside my remit of work. I won a Silver awards for my work in SE trains neurodivergent colleagues network group in which I was co lead.

Projects

During my career I have worked on numerous projects, one of the most memorable was implementing a new online benefits and recognition portal with over 91% colleague engagement. This was no easy feat with nearly half of the employees being on track employees. Our weekly newsletter for the company had a 20% engagement rate.
