Only starting this position. I am keeping track of spreadsheets. Using Ecompass to complete these duties. Checking patients charts. Checking smear results have come back and have been reported on and if not liaising with consultants. Using Excel to generate spreadsheets to collect patient data. Also outlook to email consultants.
Working as a clerical officer in the Ulster Hospital. Using health care systems Epic, Ecompass, Outlook, Work Schedules. Working as part of a team and also using my own intitative as there are times when my work colleague was off and i would be on my own. Offering nurse support with booking appointments for bloods, answering queries. Liasing with consultants, nurses and secretary's. Outpatients clinic run on a daily basis so my job would be to check patients in, check all their information for example address, next of kin and doctor is all the same and amend if needed. At the end of the clinic I would print After Visit Summary for the patient if required. Within the renal unit there is dialysis patients who come in for dialysis my job is discharge the patients from the morning clinic out of their bed to make room for the afternoon patient. Some patients would require transport so when transport has picked them up then check them out. The patients who have their own transport keep an eye out and when they leave check them out. The afternoon patients would arrive and would check these patients into the beds. It is important to apply attention to detail because if patient has not been checked out we are unable to check the next patient in and we do not want to delay the start of the treatment We would liase with transport company to advise of the off times when the patients are ready to be collected. If a patient is not able to attend their appointment we would advise the transport company. I would book ambulances for patients coming to appointment from care homes. Also book interpreters for patients who have appointments. I would keep daily check on the waiting list incase the nurses have put on about patients needing bloods booked and book these appointments or education needing booked. Each morning folders have to be sorted for the afternoon dialysis and the next morning patients, I would arrange these and take them down to the unit for the nurses. On Monday I would check through the clinics for the previous week to make sure all up to date, for example if patient did not come for their appointment check the doctor has updated and then DNA them. These reports would be handed to secretaries to make sure doctors have completed their letters and they are up to date. On Friday would print off reports for the next week clinics, to keep up to date which patient has attended. I would take queries on the phone and pass to appropriate person. Also cancel appointments. Also keep up to date with my e learning to make sure I'm doing the best at my job.

This was a temporary role. Providing one to one support with a child in p4 2 days a week with additional needs. Helping him complete his work and encoraging him when he got distracted. I was also a general classroom assistant in p5 3 days a week. I was mainly helping a young boy with adhd but my main aim was to help the whole class. I also done playground duties for lunch and break time. Helping the teacher sit up for Pe lessons and keeping an eye on the children while the teacher was teaching the lesson.
