  • Company Overview: The BSC is a fast-paced critical area to ensure that the railways network continues to function with minimal disruption, overhauling bogies and wheelsets
  • I was responsible for organising all transport for the BSC along with dispatching all assets and parts
  • Organising transport for specific dates and times, so that the BSC could prepare what was due to dispatch and arrive
  • Working to tight deadlines, ensuring transport was booked in plenty of time, allowing for loading and travel and arriving at its destination with a booked time slot
  • Making sure that the correct style of lorry arrived, to whether we required a flatbed or curtain sided, making sure that I followed safety aspects along the lines of weights and dimensions
  • Learning the internal system, Cormap. This system was for issuing parts to bogies/wheelsets, as well as transacting trains to the appropriate railway depots and for technicians to log all work that they have completed, this is vital to keeping the railway safe
  • Throughout my time at the BSC, I built the confidence to be able to work alone and within a team to be able to keep the BSC flowing correctly
  • I built key relationships from, technicians, production managers to external suppliers and senior managers at deports to be able to keep the business flowing, making sure that it ran smoothly and followed all KPIs that were in place.
