  • Joined the company as a Revenue Protection Officer dealing with ticketless travel and fraud. Seconded to management position 2014-2015.
  • 2015-2016 Conductor Manager at Brighton Depot. People manager dealing with training, HR matters and welfare.
  • 2016-2020 On Board Service Manager- Brighton. Managed a new role which was created in 2016. People manager and trainer of fellow managers to work on board trains in times of industrial action. Deputy to the Area Manager 2019-20.
  • 2020 to 2022- Programme Manager within the Customer Experience team, where my primary role is to ensure the business is resilient to change and still able to run a train service for our customers during strike action, major events or as was the case just after I took up the post, during a global pandemic where we needed to run a reliable train service amongst the backdrop of increased COVID related absence.
  • 2022- present- Operations Training Manager- Leader of a team of trainers and managers of railway operations that oversees the training and development of all 900 plus train drivers at Southern Railway.

  • Managed significant change as the Conductors changed roles to non-safety critical On Board Supervisors which involved over two years of industrial action, during which I ran a contingency course for managers and administration staff to enable us to still run a full train service A1 assessor and have attended various HR modules and carried out investigations, disciplinary hearings and heavily involved in the recruitment of new staff and managing major events that affected the railway
  • Qualified and experienced as a coach and mentor
  • Volunteer with the Prince’s Trust as a mentor for young people from 2020
  • Leadership role with responsibility for Train Driver training programme for largest UK railway company- manage large team of experienced operational railway managers- project managed an industry changing training programme liaising with various stakeholders
  • Represented GTR on BBC news, ITV news with TV interviews, and in print media with RAIL magazine
  • Represented railway industry at recruitment forums and acted as guest speaker at a number of recruitment events

Leisure time

Thoroughly enjoy History and travelling, both on a local and international level and enjoy combining the two with trips of historical significance. Supporter of Brighton and Hove Albion Football Club and the English national team and travel frequently to watch football. I also enjoying running and play football regularly. Glider Pilot, first flying solo in 2025.
