Customer Experience Consultant

I joined Maersk in September 2022 as a Logistics Apprentice in the Supply Chain Management Team. In August 2024, I was promoted to Customer Experience Consultant after gaining a distinction in Logistics and Supply Chain Management Apprenticeship in TU Dublin. In both of these role, I was responsibility for managing one of the largest export customers in Ireland.

Responsibilities:

  • Planning and Coordination: Managed the delivery of raw materials to site, ensuring timely and efficient operations.
  • Vendor Management: Collaborated with third-party vendors, including hauliers, to facilitate the movement of containers.
  • Invoice and PO Processing: Handled the processing of invoices and purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Shipment Booking: Coordinated and booked shipments for customers, maintaining high levels of service and satisfaction.
  • Customs Documentation: Worked with third-party logistics providers (3PL) to prepare and manage customs documents such as Single Administrative Documents (SADs) and Packing Lists (PLs).
  • Production Forecasting: Analysed production forecasts to allocate vessels appropriately, optimizing logistics operations.
  • Customer Communication: Led daily calls with customers to ensure smooth operations and address any issues promptly.
  • KPI Review: Utilized Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure customer transit time goals were met, facilitating smooth operations for time-sensitive cargo
  • Offshoring: Identified and executed tasks suitable for offshoring, collaborating with GSC teams. Acted as the focal point in meetings, ensuring clear communication and coordination with GSC teams.
    Authored Internal Operating Procedures for GSC teams to follow, ensuring consistency and efficiency.

To continue my growth, I worked on Continuous improvement projects such as Project Optimaxx. This included working on multiple accounts to improve processes and automating repetitive tasks. I have also worked on JCB under the Client Program Director and created a Global Operations Dashboard For the JCB account. Below are some other examples of process improvements I have made.

Continuous Improvement Projects:

  • Process Automation: Streamlined an in-transit report process, reducing the time required from 8 hours twice a week to just 30 minutes, saving 15.5 hours per week.
  • Dashboard Development: Created a dashboard for Maersk Ireland to identify customers missing customs documents, improving compliance and efficiency.
  • Global Dashboards: Developed global dashboards for individual customers, enabling them to track and view all their shipments on a single platform.

As a personal achievement, I was recognised as a top 10 rising star in Maersk UK&I.

Hobbies & Interests

In my spare time, I play GAA for my local club, Robert Emmets GAA. I also volunteer as a coach for the under 10s. I have been re-elected as PRO and on the Executive board for the third consecutive year.
