I am an independent, highly organised, and hardworking student with a strong ability to perform effectively under pressure. I possess excellent interpersonal skills, which enable me to excel in both customer service and collaborative team environments. I thrive in team settings, where I actively contribute to feedback sharing and continuous improvement, while also taking pride in my ability to work efficiently and confidently on my own. My commitment to high-quality work is matched by my drive to constantly enhance my skills. I have experience within the retail industry, as well as in construction, through my involvement with M&T Midlands and JOS Structures. While at Jos Structures, I had the opportunity to support the construction of complex infrastructure projects, such as bridges and a water tank for Severn Trent. This hands-on experience enhanced my practical skills in carpentry, concrete work, and teamwork, while further deepening my understanding of large-scale construction processes and project management. The challenges I faced on-site strengthened my problem-solving abilities, time management, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
I assisted my father, a shuttering carpenter, in the construction of bridge structures for JOS Structures in Melton Mowbray, as well as in the building of a large water tank for Severn Trent in Bromsgrove. In both projects, I helped with the preparation and installation of shuttering frameworks, ensuring precise measurements and alignment for the reinforced concrete. I gained hands-on experience with carpentry tools, machinery, and concrete pouring techniques, contributing to the successful completion of these large-scale infrastructure projects. Additionally, I played a key role in maintaining site safety by adhering to strict protocols, assisting with the lifting and positioning of heavy materials, and supporting the team in meeting project deadlines. These experiences taught me the importance of teamwork, attention to detail, adaptability, and the critical role that infrastructure plays in our communities.

I completed a week of work experience with Galliford Try, where I had the opportunity to explore both site engineering and quantity surveying. During this time, I assisted with site assessments, helping to monitor project progress. I gained hands-on experience in measuring materials, estimating costs, and contributing to the preparation of project documentation. My exposure to site engineering allowed me to learn about the technical aspects of construction, such as setting out and surveying, while my time with the quantity surveying team helped me understand how accurate cost estimation and budgeting play a crucial role in the success of a project. This experience deepened my interest in the industry and improved my attention to detail, time management, and ability to work in a professional, collaborative environment.
