A results-driven Defensive Coordinator and Sports professional with a unique background bridging the UK and US collegiate systems. With a BSc in Sports Coaching (University of Sunderland) and specialised Sports Management training in the US (Westminster PA), I specialise in building disciplined, championship-calibre cultures through elite scheme and professionalised operations.
My coaching philosophy is rooted in the NCAA D3 grind—where detail, recruitment, and player development are the only paths to victory. Whether coaching the Scotland U19 National Team to a 2-0 cycle or rebuilding the defence at the University of Sunderland, with a proven track record of implementing modern and aggressive schemes that allow athletes to play fast and physical. The defence at Sunderland this past season (3-1-1 record, playoff berth) averaged 5.2 turnovers per game and scored 36 out of 82 points that the team scored as a whole.
Currently based in the North East of England, I am focused on performance-led coaching roles and strategic sport development. I remain active in the US network and am open to remote Quality Control (QC) or film-consultancy opportunities for programs looking for an international edge.
Designed and implemented a comprehensive, multiple-front defensive playbook. Responsible for all play-calling, film breakdown (Hudl, Qwickcut), and opponent tendency mapping. In 2025, the defence averaged 5.2 turnovers per game, and scored 36 out of the 82 points the team scored overall. The team had a 3-1-1 record, which led to a playoff berth in BUCS Division 2.
Lead the program’s recruitment efforts, managing the athlete pipeline from initial identification to enrolment, resulting in consistent roster growth (From 6 returning players in 2022, to 45 (only 6 seniors) in 2026) Build a pipeline of talent from Canada and the USA, by building a connection with the university's recruitment and agency offices.
Coordinated with the Head Coach to oversee daily operations, practice scripting, and academic monitoring for the whole team.
Utilised video-analysis software to deliver detailed self-scout reports and visual feedback sessions, accelerating player development and tactical IQ.
Selected to coach the Scotland U19 squad, contributing to a 2-0 undefeated cycle with a scoring differential of +54.
Orchestrated the technical development and game-day execution of the Outside Linebacker unit, focusing on block destruction, spatial awareness, and pressure packages.
Managed sideline communications (headsets) and oversaw real-time personnel substitutions and situational rotations.
Fostered a "Next Man Up" culture during short-turnaround national camps, ensuring technical consistency across a diverse roster of elite athletes.
Integrated into an NCAA Division III staff, assisting in the daily operations of a professionalised collegiate program.
Conducted advanced opponent scouting and player profiling using DVSport and Hudl, contributing to weekly game-plan scripting for the QB, WR and RB rooms.
Assisted with sideline signalling, practice logistics, and the coordination of on-campus recruitment visits and game day experiences.
Delivered a strategic presentation to the Athletic Department on program expansion and international sport operations.
Had an offer to stay full time, but did not qualify for a Visa in time for the start of the season. The team went 8-3 that year, winning the Opendorse bowl game to finish the season, averaging 33.73 points per game and 347.1 yards per game on offense.
Spearheaded the Special Teams unit for a top-division adult team, managing complex schemes for Kickoff, Punt, and Return units.
Contributed to a staff culture focused on promotion and championship-level execution, balancing the needs of adult semi-pro athletes with high-performance goals.
The team went 7-3 in their inaugural season in the Prem North, making the playoffs as the number 4 seed.
Served as Linebacker Coach, utilizing Qwikcut for film review and implementing specific technical drills to improve tackle efficiency and gap integrity.
The team went 11-1 that year, averaging 3.8 point per game conceded. We appeared in the National Division 1 BAFA Final and got promoted to the National Premiership North for the season after.
