Christopher Renwick

Christopher was part of the Solution Delivery team at Synnovis, using Microsoft BizTalk to develop adaptors for an Integration Engine that connected multiple NHS hospital services.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Developed and implemented integration solutions within Synnovis' Integration Engine (VIE) to meet the needs of the business
• Advised on appropriate integration methodologies and techniques
• Provided support, including Early Life Support, for integrations solutions as they are implemented into NHS Hospital services

Christopher completed the Java development programme at the FDM Academy London, providing training in the following areas:

• Professional Skills, including presentations and report writing
• SQL
• Excel, including VBA
• Unix, including Vi Editor and Shell Scripting
• Web Apps Design, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, XML and XSL
• Object Oriented Development, including Core Syntax and Test-Driven Development
• Data Access in Java, including JDBC and JPA
• Web Programming including JSP and MVC
• Spring Framework including spring-core, spring-beans, spring-webmvc

Following the completion of the training, Christopher worked as a consultant with FDM at Bank of America, Close Brothers, and Synnovis, before staying on to work permanently as a full Synnovis employee.

Christopher was part of the Continuous Improvement Team as Close Brothers, working in Java to maintain a loan creation and management system for the company.

• Developing for the loan creation system
• Helping to manage SQL tables used by the loan management system

Christopher was part of the Remote Risk team at Bank of America, using Python to develop for the front-end and middleware of a front office risk system, provided technical support for software issues, and worked on programs to assist with user permissions.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Developing for the risk application, including front-end and middleware improvements
• Developing applications to help manage user access and permissions
• Performing regression tests on UAT code and assisting with code releases
• Providing support for issues in Production or UAT

Technologies Used: Python, JIRA, Yaml, Excel

Christopher worked as a team leader for this disability charity, looking after up to two disabled teenagers on days out, and overseeing small groups of volunteers doing similar work.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Looking after teenagers with disabilities, including those with limited communication skills, requiring Christopher to be able to communicate in a very clear way, as well as making sure any special needs were accommodated for and looked after
• Being in charge of a small group of volunteers and disabled teenagers, being organised and making sure the days-out went smoothly, and communicating with his superior
• Ensuring that parents' concerns were addressed and alleviated, and that their children enjoyed themselves safely.
