As a head of department for Douglas and Gordon I could see the problems that we were having recruiting good quality staff into the sector. I was acting at the time on the finance committee of ARMA (Association of Residential Managing Agents). A number of volunteer ARMA committee members transferred to the education committee with the specific aim of developing a three part education for residential property managers. This resulted in government body approval and the launching of the IRPM (Institute of Residential Property Managers). I was a founding governor (one of six) and we were extremely proud of what we achieved which lasts through to today with the National Property Institute.
I was the founding Director of Aspect Property Management Limited. We managed a portfolio of around 70 residential long leasehold blocks of flats. These were all in central London and SW11. We employed around 20 staff. In June 2024 we sold the company to the Encore Group who are now the owners. I agreed to work for 18 months that is to 31st December 2025.
I joined as a Senior Property Manager and Chartered Surveyor initially in their Milner Street office before moving to Warwick Square to head up the block management department which grew from around 8 staff to 20 in the time I was there. I was a key part of the introduction and negotiations that led to the Knight Frank block management portfolio being acquired and merged succesfully.
The ability to build a team with the core skills to provide a very good management service for clients Specialising in the central and south west London market working with principally residential management companies
As a Chartered Surveyor I am doing 20 hours per annum continuing professional development education
