Alexander Stadium Commonwealth Games Stadium Birmingham (Design Coordinator) (£85m)

Key roles:

  • Management of all CDP design packages
  • Report to senior design manager and design director
  • Manage the design programme and information release schedule
  • Review all commercial scoping documents and quotes to ensure no scope gaps
  • Liaise with Local Authorities to ensure requirements and conditions are met (including compliance with Sports England and Green Guide for Stadia)
  • Lead Principal Designer risk review meetings and assist in collation and review of O&M information and H&S file
  • Manage design process through common data environment Viewpoint 4 projects
  • Manage whole design process leading into 3 projects at the stadium following completion including fit out works for Birmingham City University
  • Assist in administration of the JCT contract


Woodland View School (ASN) Kirkintilloch (Design Manager) - £35m

Key Roles:

  • Management of whole design process reporting to design director
  • Liaison with East Dumbartonshire Council and all teaching staff to ensure collaborative project was delivered in line with client expectations
  • Chair of all design meetings recording all minutes and actions
  • Control RFI process, client RDD and contractor submissions
  • Liaison with all local authorities to achieve sign off at relevant stages in the project (Highways, Planning, Environmental Health, Building control, SEPA)
  • Manage design process through common data environment Viewpoint 4 projects.
  • Manage BIM requirements including use of E-Documents platform for COBie & asset information requirements
  • Management of all CDP design packages and coordinate with main design disciplines including specialist swimming pool package
  • Manage coordination of design CDM risks, H&S file & O&M's.
  • Manage design programme and liaise with project principals on any programme challenges
  • Assist in administration of the NEC4 contract


DG One Leisure Centre Refurbishment Dumfries (Trainee Site Manager) - £25m

Key Roles;

  • Management of H&S processes (inductions, permits, RAMS review etc)
  • Chair H&S meetings & deliver site wide toolbox talks regularly
  • Produce 2 week lookahead programme on weekly basis
  • Management of demolition, swimming pool, screed, waterproofing and changing area packages primarily including all quality documentation (inspection & test plans, check sheets, non-conformances etc.)
  • Carry out level surveys and produce setting out datums for subcontractors


Control Centre Project Birmingham (under NDA) (Design Manager) - circa £100m

Key Roles:

  • Management of multidiscipline RIBA 3 design validation for clients design
  • Management of RIBA 3 redesign works and programme prolongation further to client instruction
  • Management of changes to incorporate blast loading to whole building and programme prolongation
  • Incorporation BIM requirements including asset tagging incorporation into the scheme
  • Control design process through common data environment Viewpoint 4 projects.
  • Assist in change control process & works including coordinating circa £2m of additional design fees during RIBA 3 redesign works.
  • Lead client aspirations for BREEAM Outstanding, WELL Platinum and Uptime Institute Tier III certification
  • Liaison in relation to Building Safety Act principal designer role
  • Lead project specific security requirements
  • Liaise with estimating to advise on tender queries
  • Manage Local Authority Consultations (Building Control, LLFA, Planning, EA, Highways etc.)
  • Assist in administration of the NEC4 contract.
