A highly motivated and technically proficient Audio Visual professional with extensive hands-on experience in live production, equipment maintenance, and client collaboration. I recently graduated with a First-class degree in Audio Recording and Production from the University of Hertfordshire, building on a strong foundation in theatre production from West Herts College. My career to date includes a diverse range of roles, including my current position as a Project Manager/Production Engineer at Extreme Production Group, where I manage the planning, execution, and maintenance of technical equipment for live events.
In this role, I have honed my skills in project management, team leadership, and client relations, overseeing the logistical aspects of large-scale productions and ensuring the seamless operation of AV systems. Additionally, I have gained valuable experience in technical workflows, live event execution, and health and safety protocols.
I have also worked in customer-facing roles, such as a Customer Assistant at Tesco, where I developed strong teamwork and customer service skills, and as a Stage Management Assistant at Centenary Theatre, where I contributed to the smooth execution of live shows.
With a deep understanding of both the technical and managerial aspects of production, I am eager to apply my knowledge, leadership abilities, and passion for the industry to drive excellence in an Audio Visual Management role.Following this, I was invited to work on a freelance basis at the theatre for several years. While at West Herts College, I developed key technical skills in set design and construction, stage management, lighting design and programming, sound design and programming, rigging, and projection. These skills were honed through various productions, including musicals and guest speaker events.
Driven by a growing passion for audio, I chose to specialize in this field at University to gain a deeper understanding of both the scientific principles and practical applications of audio production. This year, I have taken on the role of Warehouse Technician with Extreme Production Group, where I am further expanding my knowledge of live event production and equipment maintenance
I am part of a multidisciplinary team comprising lighting, sound, and carpentry technicians, where I contribute to equipment maintenance, production planning, and execution. In addition to these responsibilities, I actively engage in live lighting and sound operations, ensuring seamless execution during events. My role also involves project management, where I oversee timelines, coordinate resources, and ensure the smooth integration of all technical elements. Through this experience, I have developed a strong understanding of technical and industry-specific procedures, as well as a comprehensive knowledge of site safety, management protocols, and manual handling practices. Additionally, I have gained valuable experience in client communication, fostering collaborative relationships to ensure project success. My expertise in equipment maintenance and operation has been significantly enhanced, allowing me to deepen my proficiency in these critical procedures.
I was part of a small team, responsible for stock control and ensuring customer satisfaction. Working three days a week at Tesco, I contributed to maintaining well-stocked shelves, assisting customers with inquiries, and managing related tasks. My experience at Tesco enhanced my teamwork skills and broadened my understanding of how large corporate organizations operate, in contrast to smaller businesses. Additionally, I developed key competencies in self-management and customer service. Recently, Tesco offered their support should I choose to pursue a management career within the company.
I was responsible for maintaining various elements of the theatre's staging and technical equipment. In addition, I contributed to the planning and execution of live shows as part of a collaborative team. Although this work was initially undertaken as part of my Year 9 work experience, the company subsequently invited me back on several occasions due to my performance and contributions.
