With over 40 years successful service, have and continue to develop and use the skills and experience gained throughout my career.
Began as a Clerical Assistant in 1985 and have ascended step by step to my current Senior Management Level, never forgetting the impact each level contributes to the departmental ambitions.
My most recent roles include, Fraud Investigator as an accredited Code of Practice 9 (COP9 Suspicion of Tax Fraud) delivering and recovering many £1,000,000 plus settlements under civil recovery powers for deliberate behaviour.
I am a trained "Lean Expert" able to observe, understand and create accepted current and future Value Stream Maps (VSM) to consider alternative ways of working and what steps add no overall value.
As a current Complex Evasion Lead Investigator, I,
Conduct thorough research into, whilst analysing multiple data sources, including financial documents to identify and understand potential compliance issues across all tax and duties for which HMRC is responsible.
Collaborate with team members to develop strategies for addressing tax evasion cases.
Prepare reports detailing findings related to complicated tax evasion activities recommending strategies prior to customer contact.
Engage with customers and their representatives to gather information necessary for investigations into tax practices.
Offer efficient customer service and handle challenging situations with ease.
Use critical thinking to break down problems, evaluate solutions and make decisions.
