  • Working 12 hour days, 6 days per week
  • Using work vans to locate various pickups from tourists at their hotels or desired locations (up to 4 pickups in one trip)
  • Making sure I hit the deadline to keep the trips fully functioning and organised in its allocated time frame
  • Briefing and protection gear fitting which I would explain in English and Spanish (also Italian where possible depending on how complex the conversation would be)
  • Safety being priority I had to make sure the bikes were fit to ride and ready to repair any break down during the trip
  • Either a leading guide role on a quad bike with attached radio for communication or driving the Jeep at the back of the group with a trailer and hand radio
  • Constant communication to ensure safety of quad and rider and ready to deal with any emergency
  • Knowledge of the Island and its history was a very important part in talking to groups of up to 20 people per excursion
  • Trips included forestal (off roading and heavy terrain) and volcano trips on main road with heavy congestion at times
  • Communication and awareness were key
  • Able to cope in highly stressful situations with long hours, main working language was Spanish with the team and English with the customers
  • Photographer and sales to create a wonderful memory for the clients.
