- During my time within this Trust, I have worked across two departments, beginning in the Ultrasound Department where I supported sonographers during daily clinics. My responsibilities included preparing allocated clinic rooms prior to sessions, ensuring ultrasound machines and probes were clean, intact, and ready for use and thoroughly cleaning examination beds before and after each patient.
- When bringing patients into the scan room, I confirmed patient details in line with identification protocols and ensured they were comfortable, safe, and reassured throughout the procedure.
- I regularly assisted sonographers with reporting, particularly in the Antenatal Clinic, where I recorded fetal measurements during pregnancy scans. During busy clinic periods, I also supported midwives by assisting with venipuncture, MRSA swabs, and urine sample collection. Fully committed full time and undertook additional bank shifts on Saturdays.
- I later moved into the Gynaecology Department, supporting nurses and doctors across mixed gynaecology clinics. I was responsible for preparing clinic rooms with the appropriate equipment for specific procedures and ensuring all beds, trays, and work surfaces are cleaned before and after clinics to reduce the risk of infection.
- I worked collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to maintain patient dignity at all times, providing reassurance and support throughout appointments and guiding patients sensitively during dressing and undressing for examinations.
